Vail, among other towns, wisely slots its culinary and wine festival in early April to entice you to visit when you (or renters) otherwise might not. Now in its 16th year "Taste of Vail" (4/5/06-4/8/06) has an annual operating budget of more than half a million dollars. This is one of the many ways to build a four-season resort.
